Website Packages for Home Watch Professionals: A Plain-English Guide

If you run a home watch business, you already know you need a better website. The confusing part is the menu: agencies quoting $5,000, DIY builders that eat your weekends, "free" site builders that quietly cost $300 a year in hosting. This guide walks through what website packages actually include, what they should cost, and how to pick the right one for where your business is today.
The short answer
Every home watch website has two costs: a one-time setup (the design and build) and a monthly fee (hosting, updates, and keeping things fresh). For a professional, industry-specific website, expect roughly $799–$2,499 setup and $65–$99 per month. Dramatically cheaper usually means doing the work yourself. Dramatically more usually means a generalist agency that doesn't know what NHWA accreditation or a snowbird is.
What every home watch website needs — the baseline
Whatever you pay, your website must do these things:
- Explain your services in plain language, with your service area stated by name
- Offer an easy contact form — and a visible phone number, because many of your clients prefer to call
- Show trust fast: NHWA membership, insurance, background checks, real reviews
- Load quickly on a phone — that's where most first visits happen
- Be connected to Google Search Console so you can see what's working
If a package doesn't include these, keep shopping.
The three package levels
Level 1 — Template-based build for NHWA members ($799 one-time)
The Home Watch Wix Studio Template is a members-only, one-time build: you pick from regionally inspired designs and your content comes pre-loaded, so you're live as soon as you update the CMS. Best for newer businesses or anyone who needs a credible web presence this week, not next quarter.
Level 2 — Hand-built site (around $1,499 setup + $65/month)
A designer-built site on Wix Studio: a custom-crafted home page experience, with basic About, Services, and Contact pages available as an optional $200 add-on, plus the platform's backend and CRM behind it, plus marketing reporting. For most solo operators, one excellent home page plus clean basics beats a sprawling site. Monthly includes hosting, updates, and lite content changes.
Level 3 — Premium multi-page website (around $2,499 setup + $99/month)
A full custom build, typically five to eight pages: home, services, service areas, about, and contact, and more as your business grows. This is for established operators with multiple service areas, plans to grow, or a desire to dominate local search results. You get premium custom design plus everything in Level 2.
Add-ons that earn their keep
- Location-based service-area pages ($199 one-time): a dedicated page for each city you serve — the highest-leverage local SEO move for multi-city operators
- Domain management ($50/year): we handle registration and renewal so your domain never lapses
- Google Business Profile optimization ($99 one-time): your map listing tuned up to match your new site
- Automated SEO review ($249 setup + $24.99/month): ongoing search performance analysis so the site keeps improving
How to choose: three honest questions
Just starting out or need something credible fast?
Level 1. It's fast, professional, and you can upgrade later without starting over.
Established solo operator in one service area?
Level 2. The hand-built quality and CRM matter more than extra pages.
Growing, multi-city, or want to own your local search results?
Level 3 — plus the service-area pages add-on.
Questions to ask any website provider
- 1.Do I own the website and domain? You should. If you ever leave, your site and content should go with you.
- 2.What happens to my site if I cancel? Ask before you buy. (Ours: your site and published content remain yours.)
- 3.What exactly does the monthly fee cover? Hosting, updates, security, and content tweaks should be in there — ask what "changes" means and what counts as billable extra work.
- 4.Do you know home watch? A niche provider knows NHWA compliance, insurance trust signals, and seasonal snowbird messaging. A generalist builds you the same site they'd build a landscaper.
FAQ
Can't I just build it myself on Wix or Squarespace?
You can — the builders are genuinely good. What you're really paying for in a package is expertise: branding that earns trust, SEO setup done right the first time, and your evenings back. If you enjoy building websites, DIY is a fine choice. Most home watch professionals would rather be with clients.
Why is there a monthly fee at all?
Because a website is not a sculpture — it needs hosting, software updates, security patches, and fresh content to keep ranking. The monthly fee is what keeps your site alive and improving instead of slowly decaying.
How long does it take to launch?
Hand-built sites: typically one to two weeks, depending on how quickly you can supply photos and content. Template builds are even faster since the content comes pre-loaded.
What do you need from me?
About ten minutes for our onboarding questionnaire — your services, service area, logo and photos if you have them. We handle the rest.
